Conmercial Blog Post

For this excersise, Jordan Huff and I worked together to create a "Mock" Dance Studio Commercial. Using extra footage and B-roll shots, I created the Voiceover and assisted with editing and Jordan did the Shots of Daysha and I recorded the cutaways shots of him dancing in the wig.

QUICK-TAKES

For my Quick-Take project, i used three events and basically gave an overview of the highlights of each. Each one of these mnets are very special moments and I enjoyed creating this Quick-take as almost like a falshback to the past over my accmplishments. ENJOY

Reflector Activity

For this excersise, we practices using the aluminum reflectors ad compared the differences in the how it affected the cameras subject. Reflectors are used in film and photography to capture the natural light of the sun and bounce or reflect it onto the cameras subject.

The first step is for the subject to stand in an area where the person holding the Reflector can bounce the sunlight off of the reflector and into the subjects face to provide a even amount of natural light.

As you can see, in the picture to the left the reflector is not being used and the subject appears to be dark.

However, in the picture below, the subjects face is evenly balanced with light and the quality of the picture has improved just using natural sun light.

The only issues we ran  into as we used the reflector
was making sure we had enough sun. On a day where
the weather is primarily overcast, you may have
trouble tying to find sunlight to bounce off the reflector
onto the subject.

S.C. STATE Pedestrian Bridge Midterm Video Challenge

The S.C. State Pedestrian Bridge is UP and running!  After several moths of construction, the Pedestrian bridge is finally complete. Now due to the bridge, students who live in the off campus housing located across the street from campus are able to walk to campus without fear of possible injury or harm from crossing the busy street.  Our job as editors was to compile footage into a :30 or :60 sec commercial highlighting the growth of the bridge. Enjoy !

"5 Questions"

For our segment of "5 Questions" we tok a different approach in our questions and overall set up of the interview. We asked more "random" and out of the box questions to provide some comic relief for the viewers. We also had to provide a series of jump cuts due to the fact we had three people in our group. I also edited cartoon effects and sounds to also add to the comedic relief.

or the Chroma key version, I decided to put us in outer space. My inspiration for the question we asked were derived from a Hip Hop Youtube Interview Channel "Montreality" where the interview various artists about their life and their music

Adjusting Pictures With photoshop

This is Dukes Gynasium located on the campus of South Carolina State in Orangeburg S.C. This picture is raw and unedited and was taken mid afternoon in ate March.
The second picture is the same as the original however it contains edits done with Adobe Creative Cloud Photoshop. What i did with this picture was adjust the Black Point, Contrast, Highlights, and Shadows. Thus producing an image where the black points are bolder and the accents and overall look of the picture is a harder look rather than the soft colors and light accents in the first.

Lastly I added text to the picture to complete the transformation. Dukes Gymnasium was built in 1931 so I used a bold text font with a color tat would lend in but stick out as well and placed the text across the image.

The Solar Eclipse Was Out Of This World!!!

Was it worth the hype? It sure was. The 2017 Solar Eclipse was on for the books and if you missed it, you wont see that again for another century.

People traveled from all over the country to view the
almost once in a life time event right in Orangeburg,
S.C. due ti the fact Orangeburg was one of the best places
to view "Totality" as its best.
Totality is the moment where the Sun is completely covered by
the Moon. Photographers labeled this as the "Money Shot" and
was the most desirable view of the Eclipse itself.
The link below is an overall recap of the events. Enjoy!
